On Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st Forte di Bard and its village will host the first expected Napoleon edition, one of 2013 summer Aosta Valley events.
The event offers the reconstruction of the famous passage of Napoleon Bonaparte and his troops which took place in May 1800 during the Second Italian Campaign.
In that period the French Armée de Réserve coming down from the Gran San Bernardo invaded Aosta Valley laying siege Forte di Bard, which capitulated after two weeks but with the honours of war. The episode will be re-enacted through the staging of historical settings of that period, battle scenes, military parades that will involve hundreds of people. Two days full of events that will offer an engaging and immersive experience to the public. Men and women wearing clothes of the time, guns, horses, everything will bring back in the early nineteenth century.
The detailed programme of the two days event is in progress and it will be published soon.
